Lab Overview

The Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Lab at Santa Clara University researches how people interact with technology to design more inclusive, intuitive, and impactful user experiences. The lab explores areas like augmented reality, accessibility, and interactive media, blending design, technology, and human-centered research. As part of this innovative environment, I helped bring research findings and design concepts to life through visual storytelling, supporting projects focused on improving technology’s role in everyday life.

My Contributions

As the sole video editor for the HCI Lab, I managed the video production needs of 50+ students across multiple research teams. I collaborated directly with researchers, designers, and project leads to bring each team’s vision to life through impactful visual storytelling. I produced videos that highlighted user experience research and technological innovation, including a project that earned the "Best Movie Award" at CHI 2024. Working within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, I helped translate complex ideas into accessible, engaging narratives for broader audiences.

We Are Still Here - CHI 24 Best Video Winner

In collaboration with the HCI Thámien Ohlone AR Tour team, I created "We Are Still Here," a powerful video recognized at CHI 2024 with the prestigious Best Video Award (top 1% of submissions). Through thoughtful storytelling and impactful visuals, the video highlights cultural preservation and demonstrates the innovative use of augmented reality technology to elevate indigenous voices.

Indigenous Peoples Day Reel

I produced a reel for Indigenous Peoples' Day highlighting the Thámien Ohlone AR Tour at Santa Clara University. Collaborating closely with both the AR Tour team at the HCI Lab and representatives from the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe, I refined multiple drafts based on their feedback, captured event footage alongside a professional videographer, and adapted the final video into an engaging app store preview.

HCI Day of Giving Video

In collaboration with the SCU HCI Lab, I created a Day of Giving video featuring student testimonials that highlight the lab’s impact on innovation, community, and socially driven research. Through authentic storytelling and personal reflections, the video promoted the lab’s mission and supported Santa Clara University’s broader efforts to drive engagement and philanthropy.
